Agile Coach – Software Engineer

Job Title: Agile Coach

Industry: Financial sector

Job Type: Contract

Contract Term: 6 months

Day Rate: £800 - £875  (Inside IR35)

Location: Remote


Role Requirements:

  • Must have at least 4 years of experience with Software Engineering
  • Agile methodology coaching experience
  • Demonstrated experience coaching teams on how to deliver full end to end pipeline
  • Familiar with LeSS and SAFe


  • Lead a ‘Shift Quality Left’ culture by ensuring that test is defined as part of requirements specification and lead embedding automation in functional, acceptance and system tests.
  • Support teams in increasing the frequency and automation of deployment in complex environments through embedding consistency and repeatability and enabling teams to utilise enterprise tools.
  • Establish structure and understanding of technical debt and refactoring.  Monitor the appropriate level of refactoring being delivered in work items.
  • Coach across the organization: Facilitate groups across organizational boundaries; Coach across different domains (technical, business, human resources, etc.); Mentor and advise at the enterprise level.
  • Guide organisational agility: Assess the current state of the system; lead implementation of organisational change; guide the direction of practices, processes and behaviours to enhance organisational agility; manage an organisational impediment backlog; facilitate organisational level ceremonies to develop roadmaps and plan releases.
  • Develop agile leaders: coach and develop leaders at all levels in the organisation to adopt an agile mindset; lead informal structures and support formal initiatives in support of business outcomes; change the people management paradigm from controlling tasks to leading systems.
  • As a trusted expert: share agile best practices and easily understood standards; facilitate the standardisation and implementation of tooling; produce enterprise metrics and progress tracking.
