Premier Engineering have engaged with a market leading specialist in processing and handling equipment who have an exciting opportunity for a motivated DSEAR Site Supervisor to join their team.

Job Purpose:

Acting as a hands-on Site Manager to oversee all site activities during implementation of the DSEAR projects, to ensure that all work is carried out and delivered effectively, efficiently, on-time, to specification and in a cost effective manner.
You will be engaged in tasks of running/organising specific designated projects/works, directing the activities of site team members and sub-contractors, working with various departments to plan and schedule resources in response to Customer demand.
The role will involve working on Customer’s site and there will be an amount of weekend working.
Travel will be UK only
Key Departmental Interfaces:
DSEAR Consultant Engineers, DSEAR Design team, Site services team, Purchasing/Stores and H&S Manager
Tasks and responsibilities:
  • To supervise / coordinate site team and sub-contractor’s activities working on site.
  • Provide good liaison / communication and provide positive feedback between site and DSEAR Dept.
  • Be a responsible representative of the Company assuring all works are carried out to a high standard in a safe manner promoting good customer relations.
  • Planning of works for site requirements and materials are optimised for maximum efficiency of installation work.
  • To undertake site audits/visits and produce any required site reports accordingly and report any findings back to DSEAR Engineers.
  • Makes recommendations, identify opportunities to optimize production, and undertake improvement initiatives on projects
  • Provide estimates on costing and timing of mechanical activities for budgeting and scheduling purposes
  • Identify sub-contractors to perform on-site installation works
  • Support project manager to finalize procurement and fabrication prior to installation works
  • Coordinate all aspects of installation works of equipment and other mechanical work packages by contractors in accordance to designs provided
  • To liaise directly with the nominated Site Chargehand, the Client and any Third Party supplier for technical advice.
  • Acts as the first point of contact on site for assistance and resolution in safety/technical related enquiries
  • Ensure project timelines are met and projects stay within budget for execution works
  • Effective management of resources to deliver works on-time, in-budget and to-specification.
  • To produce, when required site works RAMS and to ensure all other Health and Safety documentation is in place by when required.
  • To ensure relevant permits to work are obtained
  • Responsible for offloading, inspection and maintenance of all access equipment to be used
  • Attend regular meetings with Customers to discuss progress and improvement initiatives
  • To control, check and issue daily timesheets for nominated team members
  • Act as a focal point for the team, passing on information, gathering feedback and reviewing working practices/systems.
  • Assist in performing hands-on functions, as required 
  • Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in in mechanical engineering (electrical knowledge also an asset)
  • Knowledge & Experience Required Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position at a supervisory level with site based activities
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • Must have the ability to man manage in a mechanical discipline
  • Must be used to working with sub-contractors
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Knowledge of the Food Industry.
  • Ability to prioritise and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability and desire to solve problems for customers
  • Positive attitude and professional manner.

Desirable Qualifications (further training can be given)
  • CompEx Trained
  • MEWP’s Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Forklift Truck License
  • Knowledge of CDM 2015 and current applicable legislation
  • Knowledge of food Industry
