A growing company based in Derbyshire who are an established and hugely successful in the Electronics & Electrical Manufacturing Industry have released an exciting new opening to recruit for an innovative, enthusiastic, and passionate Embedded Software Engineer to join the business on a permanent basis and to be developing and designing world class products with the use of cutting edge technologies.
 
The role:
As the Embedded Software Engineer, you will join a strong team who work closely together to solve problems and make world leading products. The Embedded Software Engineer will be responsible for a combination of tasks that includes developing embedded firmware based on product requirements and specifications.
 
Salary:
The salary on offer for successful Embedded Software Engineer is £30,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on skillset & experience.
 
 
Embedded Software Engineer Key Skills:
  • 2-5 years minimum industry experience
  • Embedded Software Programming in C or C++
  • Embedded C is preferred
  • Have a good understanding of developing for embedded platforms and environments
  • Ability to develop, debug and test embedded systems
  • Knowledge and experience of PIC Assembly
  • Experience of reading electronic schematics and component datasheets
  • Ability to use test equipment – oscilloscopes, signal generators, multimeters etc.
  • Great communication skills – Verbally & written
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
 
Desirable nice to have skillss:
  • Version Control – GIT, SVN, Jira, Mercurial or similar
  • Real time operating systems experience
  • A working knowledge of Linux on embedded platforms would be an advantage
  • Network interface – I2C, USB, UART, RS232/485, TCPI/IP, Ethernet
  • Experience of Hardware Design – Analogue/Digital Circuit Design & PCB Design
  • Experience of Altium Designer or similar – Advantageous
