JOB- Estimator 

LOCATION- Berkshire

TERM- Permanent

SALARY- Dependent on experience £50,000 - £65,000 per annum approx. (please advise what you’re looking for) plus Company Car

My client work within Civil Engineering & Groundworks, and they are looking to take on an experienced Estimator on a permanent basis, in the Berkshire area.

The Estimator will ideally have the following attributes:
  • Previous experience working within the Construction industry in a similar QS / Estimator role for at least 2 years or more (Roadworks, S278, Drainage Schemes etc. experience would be desirable but not essential)
  • Ideally be proficient with using Computer Estimating software such as Conquest or Valesco or similar
  • Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Be confident to help build relationships with their clients
  • Good time management skills
The Estimator (Civils) role will involve:
  • Carrying out the estimating and bidding process
  • Composing competitive proposals for clients
  • Providing cost sheets for labour, plant and materials
  • Using estimating computer software on a day to day basis as well as developing and maintaining this
  • Pricing the bill of quantities
  • Reviewing tender information
  • Take off and measuring from specifications and drawings to provide the bill of quantities
  • Presenting the tender / quotation to Directors for review before final submission and ensuring this is submitted on time
  • Liaising with the Buyer regarding materials and prices
