Hardware Engineer – Cambridge - £40,000 - £65,000 pa (depending on experience)
 
A Biotech start up in Cambridge have completed a successful round of funding and are looking to massively increase their R&D team this year. They are looking for a Hardware Engineer with strong skills in Hardware & Electro-Mechanical design, ideally with experience in Robotics.
 
This role is open to a mid-level engineer or someone more senior who would be interested in leading a small team in the near future.

Responsibilities:
  • Design & build robotic, mechanical & electro-mechanical systems
  • Design & Layout PCB’s for Analogue Circuits
  • Develop & maintain firmware
  • Validate & test designs and prototypes
Key Skills/Experience:
  • Degree in Electronic/Electro-mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering or another relevant discipline
  • PCB Design & Layout (Altium, Eagle, KiCAD etc.)
  • 2D & 3D Mechanical design (AutoCAD, SolidWorks etc.)
  • Experience designing & building mechanical & robotic systems
  • Rapid prototyping
Non-Essential/Nice to have’s:
  • Full product development lifecycle experience
  • Lab robotics
  • Project management/Project leadership experience
  • Data analysis/visualisation tools
  • Embedded Systems/Firmware knowledge
