Role – Manufacturing Engineer
Salary – £35,000 – £42,000 per annum 

Type – Permanent
Location – Somerset

My client is a manufacturer of mechanical products, supplying to customers around the world. They are looking to expand and are recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer to join the team. They offer tailored manufacturing solutions.

Attributes the client will be looking for from the Manufacturing Engineer:
  • Degree/ HND/ NVQ or similar in Production or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Ideally 2 or more years’ experience working in a similar role in a technical manufacturing environment
  • Experience and knowledge of ERP systems, EFACS being preferable but not essential
  • Good communication skills; both verbal and written
  • The ability to work well alone as well as part of a team
  • Have the ability to work to tight tolerances within deadlines, whilst maintaining quality
  • Have an appreciation for design and production costs
  • Have a good understanding of Lean techniques
  • Desire to find solutions to any and every problem that occurs
  • Ability to engage with and motivate other team members
The Manufacturing Engineer role will include:
  • Designing tooling & fixtures for assembly tasks
  • Looking at potential areas to prevent errors
  • Implementing standard operating procedures to reduce variability in manufacturing
  • Introducing COPQ to make improvements
  • Carrying out RCA, FMEAs and implementing improvements where possible
  • Determining and also managing KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) of the assembly cell
  • Support process improvement activities, continuous improvement and problem solving
  • Deliver training to improve the team knowledge and practices
  • Maximising efficiency of the manufacturing process by analysing and planning the workflow, equipment layout and space requirements
