JOB - Mechanical Design Engineer
LOCATION - Oxfordshire
TERM - Permanent
SALARY - £25,000 to £36,000 per annum (plus benefits)
Premier Engineering is working with a well-established engineering company in Oxfordshire that is looking to expand its design team by hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer. This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual to work on exciting projects within a dynamic team.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- A degree or qualification in Mechanical Engineering (BEng, MEng, HND, HNC, etc.).
- Experience in mechanical design, preferably within manufacturing, machinery, or product development.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar).
- Knowledge of sheet metal, fabrication, and machining processes.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and tolerances.
- Ability to produce detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
- Good problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a team.
The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
- Designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks (or similar CAD software).
- Producing detailed engineering drawings, models, and technical documentation.
- Generating and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing.
- Collaborating with other teams to ensure designs meet technical and project requirements.
- Conducting design reviews and making necessary modifications to improve performance and efficiency.
- Assisting with prototype development, testing, and validation.
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
