JOB- Principal Stress Engineer

TERM- Permanent 
SALARY- £55,000 - £60,000 per annum dependent on experience (plus benefits)

I am working on an exciting opportunity with a huge client of mine, they are looking for a Principal Stress Engineer to join their growing team in the Dorset area. 


The Principal Stress Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

  • Knowledge/ experience within the aerospace / composites industry
  • Have good manufacturing process knowledge
  • 3 years + stress analysis experience working for a similar company
  • Be able to prepare technical proposals and quotations (technical report writing and accurate engineering instructions)
  • Experience working with similar software to NASTRAN / PASTRAN
  • Experience with Design analysis
  • Be able to manage the budgets / costs of projects following company guidelines
  • Hand calculations experience
  • Have the ability to guide Junior Engineers
  • Shock analysis experience
 The Principal Stress Engineer role will involve:


  • Working within the current design / engineering team
  • Carrying out stress analysis on a daily basis
  • Producing engineering documents in line with contracts and projects
  • Report writing and communicating effectively with other engineering departments
  • Carrying out reviews and meetings
  • Liaising with stakeholders and external suppliers, communicating best practise
  • Advising junior engineers
  • Making sure company standards are adhered to
  • Ensuring projects are planned to budget and production constraints
  • Liaising with colleagues on other engineering tasks as required
