JOB- Product Development Engineer
TERM- Permanent
SALARY- £35,000 - £45,000 per annum dependent on experience

My client works within the engineering and manufacturing sector and they are for a Project / Product Development Engineer to join their business on a permanent basis in the Surrey area.

The Project / Product Development Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • 3-5 years’ experience or more working in a similar design, development or technical project position within a manufacturing environment
  • Be proficient with using 3D CAD such as SolidWorks
  • Be keen to find a role to progress within – Project Management / team leadership in time
  • Good knowledge and experience of various manufacturing processes and materials – machining and injection moulding
  • Have a positive attitude to work with an analytical approach
  • Previous experience working with electro-mechanical components
  • Previous experience of evaluation, testing, DFMEA
  • A PRINCE II Project Management qualification or similar would be desirable
  • Have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
The Project / Product Development Engineer role will involve:
  • Supporting Clients ensuring projects are achievable and also consistent with plans
  • Coordinating and being involved in the design and evaluation process – working with SolidWorks
  • Taking this from concept through to production
  • Developing new product solutions
  • Managing projects and liaising with external suppliers as and when required
  • Working with electro-mechanical components
  • Being involved in design reviews and writing technical reports
  • Creating the requires BOM’s
