JOB- Production Supervisor
LOCATION- South Devon
TERM- Permanent
SALARY- £30,000 per annum

We are looking for a Production Supervisor on a permanent basis in the South Devon area for a market leading manufacturer within their field. Must be able to provide leadership and deliver against Quality, Delivery, Safety and Cost targets.


The Production Supervisor will ideally have the following attributes:

  • 5 years experience in a technical production environment environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate and lead team members
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
  • Support and coach team members identifying training needs
  • Working knowledge of MRP systems
  • Self-motivated individual
  • Ability to effectively organize, prioritise and manage time and projects
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure
The Production Supervisor role will involve:

  • Conduct team meetings & communicate priorities across departments and resolving any issues affecting schedule or daily targets
  • Ensure production plans are created, maintained, updated and executed
  • Record, analyse and improve utilisation of machinery and equipment
  • Responsible for enforcing standard operating procedures
  • Ensure all team members are conforming to Quality procedures and promote a culture of Quality conformance on the shop floor
  • Take ownership of work in their area and drive positive changes to the environment, planning and reporting systems undertaking whatever is required within the current business process to make things happen
  • Implement lean manufacturing techniques and other operational principles
  • Work with Engineering in implementation of evaluation of experiments
  • Support continuous improvement on the line, developing and building on existing processes to improve SQCDP KPIs
  • Maintain and improve 6S disciplines in the work area, ensuring, by audit, that standard work is being completed by the team
  • Provide leadership, coaching and guidance to reports, developing an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible team through personal leadership attributes
  • Negotiate production planning and scheduling requirements with supply chain and planning
