My client provides design and manufacturing services for a variety of industries. They are looking for an innovative Project Engineer to join their team in Exeter on a permanent basis.
The Project Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering / a related subject
- 3 or more years’ experience in Project Engineering from working in a similar role or manufacturing environment
- Understanding statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to the design
- Innovative and passionate with a can-do attitude
- Experience in the use of SolidWorks CAD with ability to operate other CAD packages an advantage (but drawings will be done by the Drawing Office)
- Proficient with using MS Office
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Flexible to travel as part of the role as required
- Engaged, enthusiastic and proactive with a systematic approach to work
- Able to work well alone as well as in a team
The Project Engineer role will involve:
- As a hands on Project Engineer you will be taking concepts all the way through from design to manufacture and completion
- Design of systems and the design/selection of electro-mechanical installation hardware to meet contracted requirements and defined standards
- This role is very client-facing and involves working to requirements and managing relationships
- Scheduling, cost, and quality control
- Planning and implementation to ensure timelines are met
- Being creative and open-minded
- Communicating with customers to meet specifications
- Being involved in purchasing for projects and chasing suppliers as and when required
- Preparing the required project related documentation & drawings
- Being involved in presentations/briefings to prospective customers / clients
