QA Engineer

Job – Quality Assurance Engineer
Location – King’s Lynn
Term - Permanent
Competitive Salary - £35K - £40K DOE, plus other benefits
My client is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join their business on a permanent basis. You will be required to support all elements of product and process quality compliance coupled with the ability to champion ISO9001 quality system and work within all levels of the organisation
The ideal candidate will have a background in mechanical, electrical and refrigeration understanding.
Duties in the role include:
  • Working with the design team as part of the stage gate development process to ensure new products.
  • Assess suppliers for systems and product conformance to specification.
  • Validate the conformance of goods delivered to the business from any source.
  • Conduct component and product testing to ensure compliance to design specification.  Carry out failure analysis to determine root cause from manufacturing and field rejects and contribute towards design/process solutions.
  • Define standards of workmanship.
  • Support technical change into the manufacturing process.
  • Inspect part and finished product for conformance to specification and good engineering standards.
  • Coordinate the calibration needs of the business ensuring the equipment is calibrated on time and to the prescribed standard.
  • Manage the ISO9001 quality system ensuring the organisation is meeting the requirement of the standard, including the surveillance programme, internal audits and identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain an awareness of current legislation (quality, technical, environmental) and working with the engineering team to determine its impact on the organisation.
  • Actively manage and continually improve the QMS.
  • Acting as the lead on the continual development of effective and appropriate quality management frameworks, systems and procedures.
  • Behave in a lawful and ethical manner in accordance with the ITW codes of Practice
Key Skill Requirements:
  • A logical, structured, analytical and investigative approach to problem solving and route cause analysis.
  • You will be required to be self-motivated and capable of prioritising activity in a busy design, manufacturing, sales and aftermarket environment.
  • Good ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Thorough understanding of ISO9001 and ISO14001 or similar quality standards would be a useful attribute.
  • Excellent influencing skills to ensure commitment to buy-in to the QMS.
  • Strong Communication skills to all levels of the organisation.
  • Mechanical, electrical and refrigeration understanding preferably to graduate level.
  • Use of IT systems and Microsoft software.
Working Hours: 37.5 Hrs, Monday to Friday 8:30am – 17:00pm with 1-hour unpaid lunch
