JOB – Supply Chain Manager

LOCATION - Near Plymouth

TERM- Permanent

SALARY- Competitive

My client designs and manufactures engineering equipment, and they are looking to take on a Supply Chain Manager on a permanent basis, in the Plymouth area.

The Supply Chain Manager will ideally have the following attributes:

  • Qualified preferably in an Engineering or a Business discipline (MBA ideal)
  • 5 or more years’ experience working within a similar supply chain position leading a team
  • Good proficiency with using ERP/ MRP systems
  • Good proficiency with using Microsoft Office and strong IT literacy
  • Good experience of warehouse management
  • Have the ability to be involved with dealing with production problems
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Risk management
  • Experience with supply chain management software
  • Strong negotiating skills
The Supply Chain Manager role will involve:

  • Managing all supply chain functions in the company; materials planning and scheduling, inventory control, warehousing, all ordering activities related to deliveries, shipping and also receiving
  • Negotiating Supplier agreements and managing contracts
  • Purchasing supplies and materials for the company
  • Monitoring and forecasting inventory
  • Ensuring purchased stock meets inventory standards
  • Liaising with different staff members in various departments to both share information and solve any problems when required
  • Communicates with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale.
