JOB- Technical Manager
TERM- Permanent
SALARY- £45,000 - £60,000 per annum (relocation package can be offered)

We are looking for a Technical Manager on a permanent basis in the Swansea area to develop and implement effective management systems to always ensure operational and technical integrity. Ensuring compliance with all statutory obligations, customer requirements, company policy’s with respect to safety, legality and quality.

The Technical Manager will ideally have the following attributes:
  • HND/ Degree qualified would be preferred
  • 3 years experience working within the Food production industry
  • L4 Food safety qualification preferred
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering continuous improvement in technical & food safety standards
  • Experience of managing internal & external auditing processes & requirements
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Self motivated and highly resilient
  • A high level of flexibility is required and the ability to problem solve in a fast-paced environment with sometimes conflicting needs & wants
The Technical Manager role will involve:
  • Ensure technical team members are fully trained in the relevant SOPs to complete their roles.
  • Investigate and review that non-conformances are responded to in timely manner; develop and manage nonconformance improvement programme.
  • Maintain and develop the QMS to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and approve concessions and corrective actions when required.
  • Ensure the internal audit programme is completed on schedule.
  • Maintain controls to ensure water quality is maintained. Review water monitoring results and work with external water system maintenance contractors to keep results within acceptable limits.
  • Manage the Technical function within its budget and ensure that it operates within agreed KPIs
  • Ensure all factory records are reviewed by the quality team to ensure correctness and filled / archived correctly.
  • Audit the operational process, and work with operational managers, to ensure full food safety, legality, integrity, and traceability at all times, as expected by relevant codes of practice and guidelines.
