We are the internal recruitment partner for our client, a small but high profile "not for profit" organisation based in Westminster, City of London. Due to expansion of the organisation, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced accounting professional to join their team in a newly created DEPUTY FINANCIAL CONTROLLER position. As the Deputy Financial Controller, you will play a vital role in supporting the Financial Controller in overseeing all financial operations and ensuring compliance with financial regulations, audit requirements and internal policies of the organisation. You will be responsible for assisting with financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making. You will also be involved in monitoring and managing cash flow, preparing financial reports, responding to audit requirements as well as handling the day to day financial/bookkeeping activities. The successful candidate will have a strong background in the core activities of a finance function. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure within a confidential environment. REQUIREMENTS - Proven experience within a similar position. - Strong knowledge of daily management accounting principles and bookkeeping activities. - Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance. - Proficient in the use of Excel and accounting software, familiarity with Xero would be advantageous. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. - Strong attention to detail and accuracy. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Professional qualifications whilst desirable are not essential for this role. More important to our client is your practical experience and fit with the team.
