Role - Design Manager
Salary- £45,000 - £5,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Type- Permanent
Location – Worthing, West Sussex
My client work in structural construction and fabrication. They are looking for a Design Manager to lead their Drawing Office.
The Design Manager will ideally have the following attributes:
• Degree / HND / HNC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• 10 years’ or more of industry experience working as a Mechanical Draughtsman / Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
• Previous experience of leading a team of Engineers would be desirable
• Having knowledge of 3D and 2D CAD – Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD 3D
• Experience of working with structural engineering projectd
• Good organisational skills are required and good time management too
• The ability to use Microsoft Office programmes
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
The Design Manager role will involve:
• Leading a team of Design Technicians
• Managing and coordinating design projects
• Producing engineering solutions and checking designs from the other Design Technicians – working with Autodesk Inventor
• Taking projects from concept to completion
• Working closely with other engineering colleagues
• Being flexible to travel to customers sites at commissioning stage occasionally
