JOB – HGV Vehicle Mechanic
LOCATION – Birmingham
TERM – Permanent
SALARY – £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, dependent on experience
My client is a well-established automotive service centre, known for delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services. They are currently looking for a skilled HGV Vehicle Mechanic to join their team in Birmingham on a permanent basis.
The Mechanic will ideally have the following attributes:
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrics
- Diagnostic and fault-finding skills using modern diagnostic equipment
- A valid UK driving licence
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Be able to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Willingness to learn and grow within the company
- MUST have experience with HGV Class 1 & 2 Vehicles
The Mechanic role will involve:
- Performing routine maintenance and servicing on a wide range of vehicles
- Carrying out diagnostics and repairs on mechanical and electrical systems
- Replacing parts such as brakes, clutches, tyres, and timing belts
- Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and complies with health and safety regulations
- Communicating effectively with customers and team members about vehicle issues and repair timelines
- Maintaining accurate records of work carried out
- Keeping the workshop clean, safe, and organised
- Working as part of a friendly and experienced team
