Job Description for an MEP EIT with Triple C

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 annually

An MEP EIT has earned a degree from an accredited university and passed their PE Exam

As an MEP EIT you will be asked to generate all aspects of production and design to ensure a quality

product meeting the requirements of the contract are satisfied. While the Project Manager, Design

Manager, or Business Development Manager may specify your workload, the MEP EIT focuses on the

MEP design, modeling, and producing the deliverables identified in the Work Breakdown Structure

(WBS). Examples of these responsibilities are as follows:

• Interpretation and development of MEP solutions from MEP Engineer

• Revit modeling

• Detail production

• Specification redlines and/or edits

• Narrative edits

• PDF publication

• Collaboration site updates of the model and PDFs

• Analytical model exporting

• AHJ coordination and satisfaction including OSHPD, JCAHO, and Joint Commission

• Construction Administration

o Submittal review

o Construction inspections with MEP Engineer oversight

• Calculation development

• Analytical energy model, lighting model, wind model, fluid model generation

• 3rd party Quality Control comment close out

• Support of numerous offices as required

• Team and client meetings

While this is the bulk of the team’s responsibility there are development exercises that round out the

position to ensure it is not a pure production role. Some of these exercises are as follows:

• Design collaboration

• Programming

• Client development

• Marketing brochures

• Charrette preparation and execution

• Quality Control spreadsheet documentation

Travel will be required from time to time to job sites and client meetings. The EIT’s role will vary by

project; on large projects the EIT may be taking notes and organizing the meeting. On smaller projects

the EIT may take more of a lead role. As project experience grows so will the responsibility of the EIT.

Quality control, strong visual skills, and organization are fundamentals but understanding the budget

and design limitations on a project are just as important so that redesign does not erode the profit on a

project.

EITs at TRIPLE C provide MEP engineering services for all building types. This position requires moderate

knowledge of MEP engineering concepts and principles as well as interpretation and application of

relevant building codes. EITs at TRIPLE C maintain effective communication with design professionals,

architects, building owners, engineers, and contractors. This position offers the opportunity for

advancement into a Project Engineer position after licensure.

The MEP Engineer will be responsible for:

- Applying MEP engineering principles and concepts to the design of various commercial buildings

- Knowledge of relevant building codes related to the design of MEP systems

- Developing take offs and estimates with input from suppliers and manufacturers

- Construction administration services including, reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and

performing structural inspections

- Managing MEP design projects from start to finish with the support of the Project Engineer

At TRIPLE C, you will work in a collaborative team of junior and mid-senior level MEP engineers and

design professionals, managing projects from conception to completion. Our mission is to develop

economical and constructible structures that meet the functional and aesthetic needs of our clients.

Desired Skills and Experience

- Unlicensed EIT working toward their license. May still be in an undergraduate or graduate level

program.

- Knowledge of Trane-Trace modeling software, energy model software, fluidics software, wind and solar

design software, Revit Suite, Microsoft Suite, Bluebeam Suite

Required experience:

MEP Design – please provide several projects that you have been integral in developing. These may be in

an institutional or educational setting. Please identify any military experience you have including ROTC.

Please indicate availability to travel and/or relocate if applicable.
