ROLE- Business Development Manager (Engineering)

LOCATION- Oxfordshire

TERM- Permanent

SALARY- £45,000- £65,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

My client works within engineering providing solutions to a range of sectors, and they are looking to take on a Business Development Manager, on a permanent basis, in the Oxfordshire area.

The Business Development Manager (Engineering) will ideally have the following attributes:

  • Previous Business Development Management / Sales type experience in a similar type of technical engineering environment
  • Qualification in Engineering would be preferred / background in Engineering
  • Exposure to the Defence, Automotive, Aerospace sectors would be beneficial
  • Be very familiar with the whole BD process
  • Be confident pitching engineering solutions and the service to third parties
  • Any engineering consultancy experience would be desirable too but not essential
  • Be computer literate; proficient with using Microsoft Office and ERP software ideally
  • Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Have strong customer relationship building skills
  • Have a great commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Be able to organise your own workload
The Business Development Manager (Engineering) role will involve:

  • Driving business growth for a reputable company
  • Being involved in a diverse range of projects
  • Working on providing engineering design solutions for an array of projects
  • Researching, identifying and developing commercial opportunities – both new and existing
  • Supporting the whole business strategy
  • Building networks of contacts with their Key Accounts
  • Building a range of Bids and leading on negotiations
  • Working closely with colleagues in the Operations and Engineering teams
  • Always provide excellent customer service
  • Be involved in maintaining and also improving all client relationships
  • Staying current with market sector trends as required by conducting market analysis
