JOB – CAD Estimator
LOCATION – Hampshire
TERM – Permanent
SALARY – £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience
My client provides specialist engineering solutions in the Construction sector. They are looking for a CAD Estimator with strong technical and customer-facing skills to join their team in Hampshire on a permanent basis.
The CAD Estimator will ideally have the following attributes:
- 3+ years’ experience working as an Estimator or CAD Technician within the Construction, Building Services or similar sectors
- Strong understanding of construction materials, fabrication, and installation processes
- Electrical Engineering knowledge would be beneficial too
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar)
- Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings and produce accurate cost estimates
- Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong customer-facing and relationship-building skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and general estimating tools
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a project team
The CAD Estimator role will involve:
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and CAD models to produce accurate quotations
- Preparing detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, and subcontractor elements
- Liaising with clients, architects, and suppliers to clarify project requirements
- Producing and submitting professional quotations and tenders
- Converting successful quotes into live projects and supporting the project team through handover
- Maintaining and updating pricing databases and estimating systems
- Supporting the Sales and Project teams with technical input and value engineering options
- Ensuring all estimates comply with company standards and client expectations
