ROLE- Design Engineering Manager
LOCATION- Buckinghamshire
TERM- Permanent
SALARY- £38,000- £42,000 per annum dependent on experience (Please advise what you’re looking for)

My client design and manufacture products for various sectors, and they are looking to take on a Design Engineering Manager, on a permanent basis, in the Buckinghamshire area.

The Design Engineering Manager will ideally have the following attributes:
  • NVQ / HNC / HND / Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • 5 years’ or more experience in a similar Mechanical Design / Senior Design / Leadership role
  • Be proficient with using 3D CAD software – SolidWorks with PDMis essential
  • Previous experience working on the design of components – and materials including aluminium, brass and stainless steel
  • Be confident in leading two other Design Engineers and running the Design Office and implementing systems and processes
  • Be proficient with using MS Office
  • Be able to pay close attention to detail
  • Good knowledge of different manufacturing processes
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
The Design Engineering Manager role will involve:
  • Being involved in the design and development of products as and when required 
  • Managing the Design Office and two other Design Engineers
  • Implementing systems and new processes to improve the efficiency of the design office
  • Creating both component and assembly drawings using SolidWorks CAD software
  • Working with PDM on a day to day basis
  • Being involved in the assembly of parts and creating build instructions liaising with other colleagues 
  • Defining the correct BOM’s and creating the appropriate documentation
  • Helping to solve any issues that may arise that relate to production issues
