A fast-paced, forward-thinking fantastic worldwide engineering company based in Nottingham (Nottinghamshire) who specialise in the field of Pharmaceuticals and who work closely with industry groups and principal experts to bring relevant new products to market within the full product design lifecycle are now in search to recruit for a new Embedded Systems Engineer to join the organisation on a permanent basis.
Work arrangement:
The company working environment is flexible 3 days in the office and 2 days at home is available. Working 5 days a week onsite in the office is completely fine. Flexible start and finish times is available to suit the needs of the Embedded Systems Engineer and all employees.
Salary on offer:
The salary on offer for the successful Embedded Systems Engineer is £30,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on skillset and experience.
Summary of the Embedded Systems Engineering role:
The successful Embedded Systems Engineer will be responsible of the research and development ideas for new products. In the addition to this, the Embedded Systems Engineer will need to create detailed electronics schematics, PCB layouts, parts lists and firmware to enable the development and manufacture of fully working prototypes (in conjunction with the electronics & software engineer and mechanical design engineers).

Embedded Systems Engineer Key Skills:

  • Consideration of talented, fresh recently qualified graduates/postgraduates
  • Qualified Software or Electronics Engineer (BEng, MEng or equivalent)
  • 1-2+ years industry experience
  • Embedded Software Programming in C, C++
  • Embedded C is preferred
  • Experience of hardware integration including sensor and motor control
  • Network interface protocols – SPI, I2C, USB, UART, RS232/485, Modbus, CAN, Ethernet etc
  • Electronic Circuit Design (analogue/digital)
  • PCB Design & Schematic Capture
  • Knowledge of CE and EMC certification advantageous, but not essential
  • Understanding of a range of technologies and ability to create detailed electrical schematics and firmware/software
  • Experience in small batch, high value, end-to-end design of electronic and software products
  • An excellent grasp of engineering and design principles within an ISO 9001 quality environment
