Manufacturing Engineer – Lymington – £45k-£50k

 

We’re working with a well-established manufacturing company in Lymington to find a talented Manufacturing Engineer who can optimise production processes, improve efficiency, and drive continuous improvement across the facility. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong technical expertise and a passion for operational excellence.

 

The Role:
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring that production processes are efficient, safe, and of the highest quality. You’ll work closely with production, design, and maintenance teams to identify process improvements, solve technical challenges, and implement best practices across the manufacturing floor.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and optimise manufacturing processes to maximise efficiency, quality, and safety.

  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for production issues and lead corrective and preventive actions.

  • Support production teams with process improvements, line layout optimisation, and workflow enhancements.

  • Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement methodologies to reduce waste and improve productivity.

  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effective production methods.

  • Prepare and maintain documentation, work instructions, and process specifications.

  • Analyse production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards where relevant.

  • Utilise tools such as FMEA, SPC, and other quality and process control techniques to improve reliability and performance.

 

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in a manufacturing or production environment.

  • Strong knowledge of process optimisation, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement techniques.

  • Hands-on experience with RCA, FMEA, SPC, and related engineering tools.

  • Experience working within ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 environments is highly desirable.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Engineering qualification (mechanical, manufacturing, or similar) preferred.

  • Ability to collaborate across multi-functional teams and drive change on the shop floor.
