Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer looking for a role where your work genuinely matters? A well-established engineering manufacturer in the Teesside area is looking to bring an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer into their team on a permanent basis.
The Opportunity
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take ownership of the design and development of mechanical components and systems, working from concept through to production-ready outputs. This is a hands-on role with real variety — no two projects are the same, and you will be working closely with colleagues across engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams to deliver solutions that meet demanding technical specifications.
The Role:
- Design and develop mechanical components and systems using SolidWorks
- Create detailed schematics and drawings for manufacturing
- Conduct root cause analysis to troubleshoot design issues
- Carry out mathematical structural calculations to support design creation and analysis
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure designs meet technical specifications
What They're Looking For:
- Proven mechanical design engineering experience
- Proficient in SolidWorks — including 3D modelling, assemblies, and technical drawings
- Degree or HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong mechanical knowledge with an understanding of system design
- SolidWorks Simulation / FEA experience beneficial — training available for the right candidate
The Package:
- £40,000–£45,000 depending on experience
- Non-contractual performance bonus
- Monday to Thursday 08:00–16:30, Friday 08:00–15:30
- 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays
