JOB- Production Engineering Manager
LOCATION- Bristol
TERM- Permanent
SALARY- £45,000 plus other benefits

My client is looking for a Production Engineering Manager to join a market leading manufacturer in low volume – high variety range of products on a permanent basis in the Bristol area


The Production Engineering Manager will ideally have the following attributes:

  • HND Qualified in Mechanical or Production Engineering or 10 Years work-based experience
  • Quick thinking, methodical Engineer to lead the Production Engineering team
  • Energetic individual looking to consistently deliver quality work under pressure with a meticulous approach to quality
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the business
  • Experience within Lean Manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of 2D & 3D CAD (preferably Solidworks)
  • Ability to coach and mentor
  • Keen problem solver with a focus on detail and leadership
The Production Engineering Manager role will involve:

  • Generate a monthly Engineering Report, documenting all KPIs, project progress, key challenges and workload lookahead
  • Drive functional excellence within the tooling design and production engineering teams
  • Drive validation plans to ensure robust and comprehensive technical solutions
  • Developing jigs and fixtures and tooling for product manufacture and R&D testing
  • To design, prove, implement and maintain production tooling through both the NPD and re-design of existing tooling to deliver product on time, to quality and cost requirements
  • Manage the Engineering team day-today and with individually set objectives, performance reviews, training matrices and ensure Company records are maintained in a timely manner accordingly
  • Responsible for departmental budget, achieving budget by controlling costs
  • Good knowledge of Problem-solving techniques RCA tools such as Process FMEA, 8D & control plans
  • Drive continuous improvement activities in quality, cycle times, process improvements and machine availability through lean techniques and value engineering to enhance the capability of existing processes and remove waste
  • Provide technical manufacturing input to new product developments to aid their smooth introduction into production
