Location: Shropshire
Term: Permanent
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000pa
My client is looking for a Production Manager to join their business on a permanent basis in the Shropshire area. You will be responsible for the supervision of the production activity and ensures that the process is taking place in a safe and effective manner, to the set quality standards and in line with the production plan, and clearly reports progress to the leadership team.
Your duties include setting and ensuring production targets are met, resource planning, KPI setting and management, troubleshooting and solving topics that arise in the production environment. The production Manager set the HSE and quality standards, lead by example, and ensuring team members are trained to perform tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Leading the production activity in a demanding steel fabricating environment
  • Planning and organising resources, ensure production targets are met, reporting, and taking actions to any deviations within the facility that could impact the production output
  • Liaison with relevant departments
  • Directing and leading of production section leaders reporting to the role
  • Adherence to Health and Safety regulations
  • Ensuring good housekeeping
  • Leading the Continuous Improvement agenda for the production area
  • Ensuring that the Quality Procedures are adhered to in the manufacturing process
  • Part of the factory leadership team, contributing to the business strategy
  • Time and attendance of production team
  • Training, coaching of the team members and following disciplinary process when required
  • Resource planning, recruitment, performance management
Skills and Experience
  • Strong manufacturing background in a Lean environment
  • Ability to assess, prioritise, focus resources to meeting production targets
  • Excellent communication skills, upward and downward
  • Preparation and communication of production reports
  • Planning and organising
  • Analytical skills to determine problems within the production process and take appropriate action
  • Solid knowledge of health and safety regulations in the manufacturing environment
  • Coaching and leadership
