Quality Engineer

Location: Suffolk
Salary: Up to £50,000 DOE
Hours: 37-hour week
Hybrid / WFH option available
25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays

Our client is a successful and growing manufacturing business with an excellent reputation for quality, innovation, and customer delivery. Due to continued growth and investment, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Quality Engineer to join their team.

The Role

As Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring products, processes, and systems meet both customer and internal quality standards. Working closely with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams, you will drive quality improvements, support investigations, and help maintain a culture of operational excellence across the site.

This is a varied position offering exposure across the full manufacturing lifecycle, with opportunities to contribute to improvement projects and long-term business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints, implementing effective corrective actions
  • Carry out root cause analysis using tools such as 8D, 5 Why, and Ishikawa
  • Support internal, supplier, and customer audits
  • Monitor quality KPIs and identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to improve manufacturing processes
  • Assist with supplier quality activities and incoming inspection issues
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry and customer standards
  • Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Produce quality documentation, reports, and technical records as required

About You

  • Previous experience in a Quality Engineer position within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of quality tools and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience working with ISO quality standards
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
  • Confident using quality reporting tools and Microsoft Office packages
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles would be advantageous
