JOB – Telecoms Engineer    

LOCATION – Portsmouth

TERM- Permanent

SALARY - £45,000-£65,000 per annum, dependent on experience

My client is a specialist manufacturer. They are looking for an experienced Telecoms/Fibre Optics Engineer to join their team in Portsmouth on a permanent basis. We’re looking for someone from a technical background who’s interested in using this knowledge to drive Sales/Business Development.

The Telecoms Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
  • Experienced working in a hands-on engineering role within Telecoms or Fibre Optics
  • Knowledge of installation, maintenance, test and repair
  • Interested in new product development and project management
  • Excellent customer service experience
  • Commercially aware
  • Confident and motivated with excellent people skills
  • Target driven
  • Organised and methodical with excellent attention to detail

The Telecoms Engineer role will involve:

  • Utilising your technical knowledge of Telecoms and Fibre Optics to drive for sales progression
  • Providing technical sales support
  • Working in alignment with market feedback with key stakeholders
  • Supporting product development and innovation
  • Creating links between potential new business partners and the team
  • Identifying new business opportunities
  • Working in alignment with commercial, technical, research and marketing strategies
  • Communicating new concepts to other departments within the company as well as internal stakeholders
  • Driving for progression and growth of the business
  • Occasional travel throughout the UK
