A great engineering company based in Birmingham are looking for an electrical engineer to join their business, due to increasing workloads on a permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop electrical and electronic designs for products and new projects.
- Understand the use and implementation of PLC systems, Allen Bradley and Siemens.
- Establish excellent relationships with all stakeholders.
- Provide advice to Clients and Technical Support on electrical issues of machines and/or systems
- Develop and document test procedures for machinery designed.
- Document to the required level for CE compliance, the electrics of equipment developed.
- Supervise electrical contractors on site.
- Domestic and international travel to commission equipment.
Specific Duties:
- Develop electrical designs for primary products and new projects, ensuring collaboration with other departments.
- Develop designs of electrics and if required, electronics of a machine or system.
- Develop PLC hardware designs and I/O lists for systems or equipment that require them.
- Establish and maintain excellent relationships with all stakeholders including customers, colleagues, suppliers and internal departments.
- Liaise with customers and Technical Support to find solutions to electrical problems of equipment and/or systems and report the findings to the team.
- Develop and document test procedures for machinery designed.
- Document to the required level for CE compliance, the electrics of a machine developed.
- Supervise electrical contractors on site, ensuring they comply to tna standards and health and safety rules.
- Travel to sites around the globe to commission equipment that you were directly responsible for designing.
- Ensure conformance to and international standards for machinery and turnkey systems.
Qualifications:
- Degree qualified in an Electrical Engineering Discipline, or equivalent work experience / Apprenticeship.
Essential Skills:
- Advanced knowledge and experience with AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD and Autodesk
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience
- Exposure to electrical layout, circuit boards, PLC, Machinery Safety, Bills of Materials.
- Exposure to printed circuit board design
