JOB-  Graduate / Product Designer


TERM- Permanent

SALARY- £23,000 - £26,000 per annum (plus benefits)

My client design and manufacture a variety of consumer electronic products and they are looking to take on a Graduate / Product Designer on a permanent basis in the Surrey area.

The Graduate / Product Designer will ideally have the following attributes:

  • Degree qualification in Product Design / Industrial Design or similar (2.1 or higher)
  • Proficiency with CAD software- ideally SolidWorks
  • 1 year or more experience in a related industry following studies (Placement year experience may also be looked at if you have all other required skills too)
  • Good skills in design for manufacture and have a high level of creativity
  • An understanding of production processes and best practices for manufacture or plastic, metal, wood & glass components
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Keyshot
  • Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Flexible to travel overseas to the Far East if required
The Graduate / Product Designer role will involve:

  • Working within the research & development team
  • Being involved in developing new products
  • Being involved in managing projects too
  • Using SolidWorks CAD software
  • Producing artwork and renders as and when required too
  • Travelling to the Far East when needed
  • Working closely with suppliers and monitoring quality during the pre-production phase
