About the Role Within this role as a Principal Engineer – Electrical Services, you will be a key part of the team and have a high degree of self-government. You should have strong technical expertise, good leadership, and problem-solving skills, and be a forward planner with the ability to deliver high-standard work to project programmes. You should also be able to take on the management of more junior team members, along with client relationship management. You should have a strong track record in multiple sectors in which JRA operates. You will be a Chartered Engineer, educated to a degree level with experience working on a variety of medium- sized projects. You’ll be part of an enthusiastic and committed team of Engineers and Technicians to deliver high-quality output on projects.

 

 

Client care and repeat business are crucial to JRA’s success, so you’ll need to be able to develop and nurture relationships with our clients. The Role - Acting as Project Leader on selected projects. - Attending principal/management meetings. - Promote the level of technical excellence within the team. - Making client presentations on selected projects. - Helping to generate repeat business through building relationships with clients. - Be client-facing and involved in all stages of the projects from inception to completion. - Ability to manage projects and teams to deliver to and exceed client expectations. about creative and innovative design. - Management of Engineers and Technicians in the production of calculations, design deliverables

(including drawings, specifications, and reports), site surveys, construction stage duties, client liaison, liaison with members of design/construction teams, project management, costing and any other relevant duty.

- Produce design deliverables (including drawings, specifications, and reports), site surveys, construction stage duties, client liaison with members of design/construction teams, project management, costing and ensure progress against the project brief.

- Check calculations and production of detailed drawings to ensure engineering designs meet appropriate quality and compliance controls, project briefs and customer requirements.

- Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary members of the design team to deliver safe, efficient, and buildable solutions.

- Contribute to the preparation of enquiry plans, tender reviews, fee estimate sheets, scopes of work and change controls as required.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications We are looking for someone with a Degree in Building Services Engineering (Chartered) - A professional registration (CEng) - Substantial experience – at least 10 years working within the building services engineering area. - Demonstrable experience in delivering projects in multiple sectors that JRA operates in. - Experience in Software design including - Microsoft, Dialux, Amtech, Revit - Knowledge of British Standards, Building Regulations, HTM’s etc. - An understanding of incorporating various renewable technologies. - Experience in managing Senior Engineers, Apprentices and Graduates. - Excellent communication and project management skills. - Understanding of commercial elements of projects. - Confident communication and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas. - Experience in contributing to bids, proposals, and tender specifications. - Essential technical experience: Design of Electrical Building Services - Able to travel to the office in Birmingham and clients across the region.
