ROLE – Product Design Engineer
LOCATION – Basildon, Essex
TERM - Permanent
SALARY - £35,000 to £45,000 per annum
Premier Group are currently recruiting for a Product Designer to join the design team of a Design Consultancy client.
You will be taking a leading role on the projects and assuming a large amount of responsibility. The materials in use would be a mix of metal, plastic, wood as well as design for 3D printing.
The Product Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- Experience of designing concepts through to manufacture
- 3 - 5 years’ experience within design
- Engineering qualification (BEng, MEng, HND, HNC, BSc etc.) in Product Design / Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Excellent 3D CAD skills using SolidWorks or similar
- NPD experience
- Have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
The Product Design Engineer role will involve:
- Working within the current engineering team including junior designers
- Producing engineering documents in line with contracts and projects
- Producing 3D designs using CAD software
- Generating the BOM’s to go with the associated designs
- Liaising with colleagues on other engineering tasks as required
- Coming up with new ideas to help improve business
