Company Overview & Job Title:
One of the world’s most advanced and prestigious engineering organizations based in Coventry (West Midlands) who are a global leader in multiple industries for Electrification, Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle, Autonomous Driving, Connected Mobility, and many more sectors the organization is now seeking to hire a brand new Senior Functional Safety Engineer to join the successful and growing business who have an excellent team environment and to be working the Controls Engineering department.
Salary:
The salary on offer for the successful Senior Functional Safety Engineer is £45,000 – £55,000 per annum, depending on skillset & experience.
Flexible hybrid working arrangement:
Working 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home is available.
The role:
The successful Senior Functional Safety Engineer will need to understand and take responsibility for the intended functionality of systems in a broad automotive context.
Functional Safety Engineer Key Skills:
- Minimum BSc or BEng (2:1) in Automotive, Electrical or equivalent Engineering
- Relevant engineering experience (ideally Systems or Safety Engineering)
- Experience in leading and delivering Functional Safety activities according to ISO26262 for production automotive projects
- Experience in conducting/leading FMEA, FTA, FMEDA, and HARA activities
- Experience in the development of one or more automotive powertrain control systems, high-voltage electrical power supplies, hybrid vehicles, ADAS features, or similar technical fields
- Good time management and communication skills
Bonus nice to have skills:
- Project Management experience
Conducted ISO26262, SOTIF (ISO 21448) and Cyber Security (ISO 21434) Training - Member of an appropriate professional body (SAE, IET, IMechE)
Certified in Functional Safety by recognized entities, e.g. TÜV - Hold a driving licence valid for use in the UK
