Job Description
We are a renowned technology company seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Technician to join our team in Fareham. As a Senior IT Technician, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of our IT systems and providing expert technical support to internal employees.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain our IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networking components
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruptions
- Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to enhance system functionality and security
- Coordinate with external vendors to procure necessary equipment and software licenses
- Train and support end-users, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary technical knowledge to perform their roles effectively
- Collaborate with the IT team to identify and implement system improvements, upgrades, and new technologies
- Maintain accurate documentation of IT processes, troubleshooting guides, and system configurations
Skills and Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a Senior IT Technician role or similar position
- Strong knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, and network administration
- Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving hardware/software issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a team
- Familiarity with industry best practices and emerging technologies
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) are highly desirable
- Degree in Information Technology or a related field is preferred
