A top class Global specialist engineering organisation based in Northampton (Northamptonshire) who’re Industry leaders for developing and designing special products and technology in the Automotive Industry for Electric Vehicles are now looking to expand their welcoming, innovative, and talented engineering team to recruit for a brand new Control Systems Engineer. The role:

The Control Systems Engineer role will primarily be a mixture of software development that will include design, testing and analysis for Electric Vehicle Systems.

 

Salary:

The salary on offer for successful Controls Systems Engineer is £40,000 - £50,000 per annum.

 

Work from home & hybrid policy: The company is based in Northampton (Northamptonshire) and a hybrid working pattern of 3 days onsite and 2 days working from home is available.

 

Control Systems Engineer  Key Skills:

  • Degree or equivalent in Electronics, Software, Computer Science, Automotive/Motorsport Engineering
  • 2+ years minimum years industry experience
  • Graduates with 6-12+ months professional experience also considered
  • Experience in programming languages for C, C++, or Python
  • Knowledge and experience of Embedded Software & Embedded C code
  • Experience of Model Based Development - MATLAB, Simulink & Stateflow
  • Communication protocols – MODBUS, Ethernet, CAN, CANbus, LIN, FlexRay, CANopen, J1939 or similar protocols
  • Good team work and communication skills

 

Desirable nice to have skills:

  • Industry experience/Knowledge – Automotive, Motorsport, Electric Vehicles
  • Experience within the Software Development Lifecyle, V-development cycle/ or ASPICE
  • Appreciation of functional safety requirements
  • LV & HV System Design
  • Vehicle Harnesses and Wiring
  • CAN Bus – In-depth knowledge of automotive CAN systems and reverse-engineering
  • Familiarity with python scripting, or similar for automation
  • Version Control Systems Management tools – GIT, SVN, JIRA or similar
